My Korean Influences

안녕하세요 제 블로그에 오신걸 환영합니다. 제 이름은 다니엘입니다!
你好!欢迎你来看我的博客!叫我丹尼尔吧!
こんにちは。僕の名前はダニエルです。僕のブログへようこそ!
Hello, welcome to my blog, my name is Daniel!

I, am a man, who forgives but doesn’t forget….not in a hostile way.
Well, what I mean is, I never forget a disgrace, and I never forget a kindness. And when people are genuinely kind, I take double notice. So my blog is 5 days old……it grows up so fast Image,

I want to do a gratitude post. And for this I will recognize my thanks to my Korean influences.

I’ve been to China more than once, and each trip I meet new people, my first time of course, most of my friends were Chinese, but this recent trip, 98% were Koreans. And man, oh man, I’ve never met such an interesting and hospitable group of people like my Hyungs형 (big brother) and my Nunas 누나 (big sisters).

Some people find their love or influence from Korean food Image,

some love the KPop Image,

most love the KDramas Image, and while these things are powerful (Korean wave) Image,

these individuals made me, quite interested in their culture.

Choi Kyunghan: Image
Stats: cool, humorous, alpha-male, responsible, helpful, big bro #1

ImageImage

Kyunghan has a trait that makes him noticed when he walks into the room. He’s very kind and generous and one of the reasons why I too, started learning korean….X_X. He loves his adventures and is “let’s go do something guy?” A lot of people look up to him and his room was always the “party” room. Seriously when I was cash poor lol, in China it was thanks to him and his girlfriend (probably wife by now) who…..lol…..fed me before I started starving in China X_XImage

Kim (nuna) minjung: Image
Stats: short but very pretty, funny, motherly, “carries the pants” and Kyunghan’s money, hospitable
ImageImage
Kim Nuna is my big sister and my mom abroad. Not that I need to be taken care of, but always available with Chinese help, sports…Badminton! She’s good, and she is the other half of Kyunghan. Together they always hosted people in a strategy. She’s hosts the ladies and Kyunghan’s got the guys. Also nuna is a curious lady, every time they thought I have a girlfriend they wanted to be the first to know….I don’t. No worries. Overall everyday with the two of them is an adventure. Image

Rhim Changgyon (Lin): Image
Stats: fashion! Comedian -_-;, (Korean Kevin Hart), army boy, responsible, every Korean girl’s dream so I hear.
ImageImage
Lin, who he was known as, is the closest thing I could know to Super Junior or MBLAQ to name a few KPop bands. He actually made me up….my clothes game a bit. Walking next to him, you better look good lol. But Lin is a break the ice early kind of guy. You get comfortable with him real fast. He’s funny as hell, especially when speaking Chinese (Kyunghan and Kim are better then me,but I’m better than Lin lol)
He’s responsible, especially after I met him family in China, his mom is so nice.Image His family is also an influence in a sense, they offered to host me if and when I go to Korea, but I won’t intrude. Lastly, Lin gets girls lol, pretty boy sheesh….. But he takes care of himself. And speaks amazing english, army boy translator.ImageImage

Seo Jinhee (Genie):

Image
Stats: pinnacle of female, every guys dream, funny, caring, curious, fashion, hospitable, KPop 100%, KDrama 100%
ImageImage
Genie is an interesting person. In China, when I’m walking, sometimes I can “part” crowds for being a foreigner, but Genie can always “part” crowds. Her looks knock guys out lol. She is probably the closest thing to SNSD(girls generation), or T-ara. Hanging out with her, especially in the Koreatown, Shanghai, kinda felt like being in a KDrama episode. But she’s awesome on many levels, very caring, and curious. Hanging out with her is most fun since we use, Korean, Chinese, and English continuously for fun. But we understand each other. It’s unique, and doesn’t breed much confusion lol. Our own “Korineselish”(Korean – Kor, Chinese – inese, English – lish). Image

Candice (Candi) Clark:

Image
Stats: beautiful, funny, really Korean, feminine, ambitious, big thinker, friendly, dancer, unknown
Image
Candi is a newly met influence, influential in the fact that, since I’ve been back in the US, never thought I’d find someone like her. She loves Korean culture, everything about it, and her hype is infectious. She calls me Oppa ( which is big brother ) in Korean, but it’s the term girls use to guys, and it’s soooo, hilarious. She what’s big aspirations especially in the KPop field. She could be a dancer or choreographer for SNSD! And she’s also probably gonna start her own make-up line. Overall meeting her is a joy, which shows that black people are getting up there more and more. Yes, there are blacks that have been abroad before us, but again, that’s before I knew. Thanks to her, I even started this blog, since her wordpress blog: “mysweetthoughtz.wordpress.com” inspired me to start one. Thanks Candi lol.

….yeah…….my Korean influences…….ehh, it’s fun lol. No need to look down on it, nor should anyone ever be ashamed. Being abroad with them, and coming back and meeting new people, I really fall in love with international everything. I love my American culture and people, but why limit myself. There’s so much to do, and see internationally, and it’s limitless, in a lifetime you can never get enough…so your constantly having fun and enjoying life. No two days are the same, and that’s what I love. I don’t want a boring or redundant life. I love adventures even though I’m still an undergrad student, influences like these, fuel my international aspirations. I’m aiming for a powerful blend of West meets East. (Yes I changed the phrase and made it my own) Image
